Do you know that you were born with your creative energy and unique, specific talent in part to make our world a better place? Yes, to bring yourself joy. Yes to stretch and grow and expand. And, yes also to contribute to the rest of us. Since we're each uniquely suited to a unique way of being and a unique way of creating, we get to make it up as we go along. Just as each bird species sings a different song, each person is here to make a different contribution. And, that includes you! Yes, no matter your age or your stage, you get to tap into your energy of creativity and set forth upon your next bright idea.
If your unique talent or ability seems obscured and you're not clear about it, take heart. Usually it's the thing you're good at; the thing that just flows from you cuz it's part of your personality. That's it.
It feels good to find and get clear about your special gift. I spent years not knowing mine and felt 'less than' and frustrated. Turns out some of the negative things I said about myself were clues to my gift. It's true I move around a lot in my interests, yet instead of beating myself up for not sticking to things, I now see that I have diverse interests and while exploring them I motivate others. I'm a motivator and a catalyst. Wow!
It's important to try to find your special gift and discover how to best express it. It feels good to know especially when you catch yourself in the act of doing what you've always done with ease & now knowing that that's a gift. My coach helped me by suggesting I write to trusted friends to ask them to name some adjectives they'd use to describe me. Reading the character trait list that they offered helped me to clarify. For some, those answers are life-changing. Now I get to coach creativity which brings joy every day!
Once clear about your own talents and gifts whether from creativity coaching or inviting lists from your friends, you then can encourage others to see theirs. When you notice something a friend is doing that also makes the community a better place, offer your thanks and appreciation. If you pass your neighbor at the curb, say a good word about their garden. At the bank or post office if there's a person there who makes you feel welcome, let them know their smile matters. Our unique gifts come in all shapes and sizes and enrich our lives. While in the process of discovering yours, you can admire others.
